Hello Room 16 Students and Families!

One video today, our second addition lesson.  After watching the video, I would like the students to complete the 5 addition story problems below.  Students should draw circles to match each number, and then join the two groups together to find the sum.

 

Today I have included a link to the NASA Space Agency site.  I was watching the news and saw that they are launching a rocket today.  It is not the most user friendly site, but I thought the students might enjoy the videos.  I will also post the link in the Google Classroom

 

 

Savannah has 3 unicorn toys.  Mariah has 4 unicorn toys.  How many do they have all together? (3+4=7)

 

Aria has 1 sticker.  Gabby has 5 stickers.  How many do they have all together? (1+5=6)

 

Alan has 6 dinosaur toys.  Tadeo has 3 dinosaur toys.  How many do they have all together? (6+3=9)

 

Jessica has 2 pencils.  Sean has 2 pencils.  How many do they have all together? (2+2=4)

 

Teresa has 1 crayon.  Lyla has 8 crayons.  How many do they have all together? (1+8=9)

 

 

1. attend the classroom Zoom meeting

2. watch the addition video and complete the addition problems by showing your work

3. watch a SLZUSD Story Time video, maybe post a comment on the video you watched

4. writing lesson:  tell me about 1 or 2 things you like to do on a hot day, don't forget to tell me why you like to do those things

5. spend some time on the Raz-Kids reading program

6. spend some time on the Happy Numbers math program
