Hello Room 16 Students and Families!

 

Today you will receive an email with the information concerning our next Zoom get together.  It is scheduled for this Wednesday, May 13 at 10:00 am.  I will send a reminder email Wednesday morning.  Hope you can join us!

 

Two videos today.  Our last pattern video, where we introduce the ABC pattern. I have also posted a story I read in a previous Zoom meeting as I heard many students enjoyed it.  It is, 'Grumpy Cat' by Brittanis Teckentrup.  Make sure you watch until the end for the writing prompt.  I am excited about the next series of lessons that I will begin to post Wednesday, so I hope you will check back here tomorrow!

 

I appreciate the growing number of families who have joined the Google classroom.  I have now posted over 50 videos that are stored and organized in the classroom.  There are also new and different stories read by Ms. McJilton (under the SLZUSD topic) for you to check out.

 

I discovered this link yesterday that had Lego coloring pages.  I know a few of the students have shared their Lego creations during our Zoom meetings, so I thought this link might interest you.  If you have access to a printer, you can print out the Lego mini figure coloring pages.  Coloring is a good way to practice fine motor skills and can often help students destress.

 

 

1. watch the pattern video and make your own pattern by drawing it on paper

2. watch the story, and complete the writing prompt

3. if possible, find another activity to complete on the Oakland Zoo distance learning page.

4. spend some time on the Raz-Kids reading program

5. spend some time on the Happy Numbers math program, OR complete a few pages in your Interactive Math Workbook

6. complete an activity on the Go Noodle site (link in Google classroom)

7. maybe watch a show on the PBS Kids site (link in Google classroom)
