Hello Room 16 Students and Families!

I hope to see you all at our Room 16 Classroom Zoom meeting this morning.  Check your email for login directions and information.  We will be reading a story and completing a short lesson on plural words, with hopefully some time to share out.

Only one video today (as I will be reading a story during our Zoom meeting).  This is an important video, describing a few reading strategies the students can use to help them decode and read increasingly difficult books, especially when working with the Raz-Kids reading program.  I recommend watching this video more than once.

Also, another link today, this one to the Oakland Zoo.  Though not as exciting as the Monterey Bay Aquarium (no live cams), it does follow up on the 'living/nonliving theme' discussed on yesterdays' link.  Please check it out, there are also a few art projects that you may find interesting.  I will also post this link in the Google Classroom under the Science topic.

A reminder to join our Google Classroom, the directions on how are included in our May 4 post.  Did you know you can comment on Google Classroom posts? Maybe write a comment on your favorite video.

Please don't forget to give the Happy Numbers Math program a try too!

Today's Goals

1. join our Zoom meeting
2. watch the Reading Strategies video
3. use those strategies with the Raz-Kids program
4. spend some time with the Happy Numbers program
5. complete a Go Noodle exercise (find the link in Google classroom)
6. check out the link to the Oakland Zoo science lesson and find the living/nonliving unit

Wishing you all a nice day!
-Mr. Auad
