Hello Room 16 Students and Families!

You should have received 2 emails from me yesterday.  One email with information about the RAZ-KIDS reading program, and another email with your child's SLZUSD email and password.

Today you will receive the ZOOM invitation for our meeting tomorrow, Friday 24, at 10:00 am.  I wanted to point out a couple of new details about ZOOM.  The ID number is now 11 digits long, so make sure you enter all 11 numbers.  The password also needs to be entered exactly how it appears.  It will involve upper and lower case letters, numbers, and characters.  You can also cut and paste the link in your address bar.

After inputting the meeting ID, or using the link, a box will pop up telling you this is an authorized meeting.  Click 'Sign In' and another box will open.  On the right hand side, it will say, 'Sign In with Google'.  Click that button, and use the SLZUSD email and password I sent you yesterday to sign in.  This is the first time we have tried this new way of conducting a ZOOM meeting, so I would recommend trying to enter the meeting early.  It is scheduled to begin at 10:00, but I will open the meeting at 9:45 to give everyone time to log in.  If this does not work we will find another way.

2 video posts today.  The Eric Carle story, "The Very Quiet Cricket"  in which I included a writing prompt to help the students get started.  I have also posted the third subtraction lesson video.  This video is important to watch as it will help students complete today's subtraction lesson.

Below I have 5 subtraction stories.  Before completing them, please watch the video titled, "Subtraction Lesson #3" as it will demonstrate how to complete these subtraction problems.  You will need a paper and pencil to complete this lesson.  I will have 5 more subtraction stories tomorrow!
