Hello Room 16 Students and Families!

I hope you are having a nice Tuesday!  I have a few announcements to share with you today.  The first announcement is that I am excited to let you all know that we are going to start an online reading program called, Raz-Kids.  I will be sending you an email in the next couple days about how to log in, and use the program.  I have been trying out the program myself, and I have had success in completing the lessons.  This is for both TK and Kindergarten students.  Please check your email, as you should all receive log in information by Friday.  I encourage the students to try this program!

The next announcement is; we will be postponing our Wednesday ZOOM get together.  I am continuing to understand the new ZOOM requirements, and want to make sure I have the program working before we begin our meeting.  Students may now need to log in with their student Google accounts to enter the meeting.  If this is the case, I will be sending all of you your child's Google account information.   The ZOOM requirements often change, and I am trying to make it as simple as possible for you to join the meeting.

Two videos today:  Another story about Mr. Panda by Steve Antony titled, "I'll Wait, Mr. Panda".  In Math, we our going to begin a unit about subtraction.  Each day I am going to post another subtraction lesson that I hope the students will watch.  Subtraction is a Kindergarten Math standard, and I encourage the TK students to participate as well.  To help structure the day, I am going to now include daily goals.  These goals are just a recommendation, so just try your best.

TODAYS GOALS

1.  Watch and Listen to the new story.
2.  Complete the writing prompt at the end of the story.
3.  Watch and listen to the subtraction video.
4.  Complete two subtraction pages in your workbook.
5.  You may want to look at the Scholastic Learn at Home link

Remember, if you click on the distance learning packet link, there is a recommended schedule.  It is important to remember that lessons do not need to be completed in any particular order, and that it is important to take breaks and move around.  Wishing you all a nice day!
