Tuesday, March 24 Post

Hello Room 16 Students and Families!

Happy Tuesday to you all.  I would like to begin with some news before we get to today's math mini-lesson.  You will all be receiving an email from me today with the subject line, 'Corvallis Survey'.  It is important to complete this 3 to 4 question survey as soon as possible as I need to report back the results by Thursday morning.  This survey should just take a few minutes to complete, and will better help us serve you going forward.  So, Thank You in advance!  Another thank you to all the families who have subscribed to the classroom webpage.  We are up to 10 families, only 10 more to go!  I love the pictures you are all sending me, I am very proud of all of you!  I try to respond to each picture sent, so keep sending them my way!  Also, check this page later this morning, I am going to try to post my first video saying hi to the students.  If this works, I hope to start a story time that the students can watch.  Now on to today's mini-lesson.

BOX GAME

Like the previous lessons, this lesson is one we have completed in class and students should be familiar with.  It is called box game, and this is how to complete it:

You will need: -paper
                       -pencil/marker
-cereal pieces or coins for counting

1.  on a paper, draw a large rectangle box the size of the paper
2.  tell the student a number between 0-30
3.  the student then should count out loud, and put the cereal/coins in the box.                              stopping at the number you told them
4.  they can then write the number on a separate piece of paper
5.  repeat these steps

I wish you all a nice Tuesday, and stay safe.  Come back tomorrow for a popular word game that we would complete in class!
