Welcome to Mr. Auad's Teacher Page

Hello!  Hope everyone is doing well!  Just wanted to make note about the lessons linked below.  Kindergarten students will know how to complete the writing portion of the writing lessons (by sounding out and writing words and sentences).  TK students can tell their care giver their stories and ideas, and can have help with writing their words.  Help them by sounding out simple, three letter words.  Making sure they pay close attention to the beginning letter sound.  Spelling does not need to be correct, as long as they write the sounds that they hear.

If you did not receive a 'Interactive Math Homework Book' during conferences, they will be available for pickup tomorrow, Thursday, 3/19, between 10:00-12:00.

Please stay well, and I miss you all!

In the daily post I forgot to mention to please check your email today for the information on how to join our Friday Zoom meeting at 10:00.  Thank You!

Thursday, May 21

Hello Room 16 Students and Families!

I wanted to follow up on what Mr. Dunn-Ruiz said yesterday during our Corvallis morning assembly.  As soon as I receive information on when you can visit the school to pick up your children's projects, I will let you know.  At this time, our last classroom Zoom meeting is tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 29.  I would like to do something special for the Kindergarten students moving onto First Grade on this day.  The last day of school is quickly approaching on Tuesday, June 9.

Two videos today.  Our lesson today is much like the one I posted about a month ago.  That lesson involved making a number line.  For today's lesson, students will write, cut, sort, and glue letters in the correct alphabet order.  You can do this lesson with both upper and lower case letters.  Today's story is a student favorite, 'Clifford, The Firehouse Dog'.  Mae sure you watch to the end of the video for the daily writing prompt.

Today's Goals

1. watch the lesson, and make your own alphabet line
2. watch the story, and complete the daily writing prompt
3. spend some time with the Raz-Kids reading program
4. spend some time with the Happy Numbers math program (remember, it is recommended you spend a total of 45 minutes a week with this program)
5. spend time playing and creating

Hope you all have a nice day!
-Mr. Auad

Make Your Own Alphabet Chart

Join me as we make our own alphabet line. You will need paper, pencil/pen, scissors, and glue to complete this lesson. Follow the directions in the video to make your own alphabet line. Remember when writing your letters to leave spaces between them, as this it will make it easier to cut out the letters. Good luck!

Clifford, the Firehouse Dog by Norman Bridwell

Clifford takes a trip to the city to visit his brother Nero. He soon becomes involved with helping firefighters put out a fire and rescue the people in the tall building! Will Clifford save the day? Watch to find out! Your writing prompt today is: Let's talk about safety. Tell me about one or two of our recess safety rules we had, and why it was important to follow those rules. I give a few examples at the end of the story. Enjoy!

Dinosaur Lesson-Tyrannosaurus Rex

Our last dinosaur lesson focuses on the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Learn what this scary looking dinosaur ate, and what those little arms on his body were used for, among other interesting facts. I hope you all have enjoyed these dinosaur lessons, as I had fun making them. If you ever want to watch the lessons and drawing videos again, I have been posting them in the Google classroom. As always, thank you for watching!

How To Draw-Tyrannosaurus Rex

Join me as we draw the Tyrannosaurus Rex. This is a tricky dinosaur to draw, so please take your time. Remember, it does not need to look exactly like mine. You can see how every time I draw the dinosaur it looks different, and that is ok. I hope you have fun, and I can't wait to see your drawings!
