Before becoming a 5th grade teacher at Corvallis, I did different things outside and within San Lorenzo Unified, including being a substitute teacher. When I’m not in school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy gardening, playing sports, and cooking. There are so many things to do in a day!
Just a sampling of quotes I appreciate: “With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.” - Eleanor Roosevelt.
“The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power.”
“You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water.” - Rabindranath Tagore.
I am a proud Hufflepuff of Hogwarts. Teaching Credential received from Touro University in Vallejo in 2015. BAs from UC Davis in 2005.
District Tools I Use
Attendance, Report Cards, Gradebook
I use Aeries for these purposes. You can stay on top of attendance through the Aeries Family Portal or Aeries App.
I use Google Classroom for some assignments, mostly writing. If you would like to see your student’s work in Google Classroom, I can invite you as a guardian. Please email me with your request and email address.
Other Tools I Use
I use the ClassDojo app to communicate with families as well as award points to students on a weekly basis. Family communication may include field trip reminders; Student of the Week notice, etc. If the school moves to use Sangha for teacher-parent communication instead, you will be notified.
Students receive points in Class Dojo for behavior ex/ participation; being on-task, etc. on a daily basis. Points are awarded for prizes at the end of each week. Families can check their student’s points on ClassDojo in addition to email me.
